This is the first of two pages for Tam's art journal. I will admit to being stuck on what to do. I opted for playing with layers because backgrounds with depth is something at which I suck. I started out with a page from an old Soviet lit textbook and dry-brushed it with two shades of green acrylic paint. Then I splashed on green writing ink and painted over everything with water-downed gesso. After that I dry-brushed the page again with one shade of green acrylic before glueing on some painted rayon tissue. Then there's the stitching, which you can barely see but it still manages to provide some depth and texture. I think that I'll do something similar to this for my text-based art deco next month.
