Spread in Sharon's Fantastic Creature Deco. She had a sub-theme: Nick Bantock. I hadn't looked at a Nick Bantock book since high school, so there was research to be done. Here is a muchos distressed page. I used tea, artist ink, and matte medium with a touch of raw sienna acrylics in it. The actual beast is drawn in india ink and coloured in with pencil on a couple of sheets from a Mozart symphony score. The stamps are because the whole page looked out of whack without them. Ptichka and I were both staring at the page, trying to figure out what should be added, when we both said at the same time, "Postage stamps." I'm sure Bantock would be happy that he's got a trademark (or two or three).

I *love* this page! The postage stamps were the perfect addition. It makes me want to dig out my Bantock books. I think my mom stole them...

Beautiful job! I love the background and the batrabbit. Did you draw that? It looks fantastic!

Thanks everyone! This is not my usual style so it was a bit of a challenge. And yes, I did draw the batrabbit. I'm still working on the drawing.
