Monster Deco

I'm going to give Blogger and it's new insert picture function a whirl while I wait for Greatest Journal to tell my why my entire gallery of original artwork was deleted. This is one of my monster decos for a Yahoo-group swap. It's a kraken or something like that. I mixed high viscosity acrylic paint with coarse medium for the monster. Then I painted the background with water colours. After that, I mixed some of the original blue acrylic with some raw umber for shading purposes. The tentacles go onto the back cover so this scan is of the open cover. There are only four pages in this bad boy because I don't think he'll be very popular. He should be, though. If you don't like him, he could probably eat you. ROWR!

Well, I have an idea why... maybe they thought it was Photo Altered! They deleted many of my original digital oils - when I had an art journal there - so I left. They do have a "clause" that says they will not host anything that has been photoshopped or altered in any way - so I thought it may have even been my frames. Grrrr. I hate that. So much time spent in uploading! I like Blogger much better!

1. I'll change the link in my sidebar to Altered Thoughts, although I could change it to "Soothsayer" if you'd like. ;-)

2. I'm really bummed about my photos too. I have high resolution (read immense) scans of everything I posted but I tend to dump the lower resolution scans after I've uploaded them to the GJ and the Yahoo group the work was done for. And I understand deleting occassional photos that don't meet the standards but everything? Deleting everything and then deleting the three scans I uploaded after everything else had been deleted? That's just malicious and wrong. And they've chosen "gallery abuse" as the subject for my question. That doesn't sound good. Ah well, pfft.
